Ahh, the Analog Days... The days before the whole world was connected digitally, when guitar and bass amplifiers, synthesizers and drums weren't code and the cess pit of social media limited itself to ranting - mostly drunkenly - at the bar of your choice.
Back in those days, I went through a dark period, which I've referred to in other songs as well. What I didn't write about, was that I didn't go through this alone. Someone else, a friend (allegedly), was going through much of the same shit in a different way. We leaned on each other very much to get through those times and each of us almost didn't make it out. But we did. When time goes by and those events are forgotten, so, it seems, does the friendship that held us together, irrespective of the digital connection through social media. And the caravan moves on...
lyrics
ANALOG DAYS
DO YOU REMEMBER?
THE ORANGE WARMTH OF CATHODE RAYS
THAT GOLDEN SUN
OF THE ANALOG DAYS?
WHEN WE STILL GOT HIGH
DARED TO FLY
WHEN YOU MADE YOUR WOMAN CRY?
NOW COLD-CONNECTED IN THE DIGITAL MAZE
ONCE REMOVED IN ANOTHER HAZE
BUT DO YOU STILL REMEMBER
THOSE ANALOG DAYS?
OUT OF ZONE, OUT OF REACH
CONJURING UNCONSCIOUS FEASTS, WHAT’S
LEFT OF YOU?
LEFT OF ME?
ACID FRIDAYS , OUR ESCAPE
HIDING LIKE A RUNAWAY
UNELEGANTLY WASTING
AWAY
WHO LED WHOM
ASTRAY?
IN OUR ANALOG DAYS?
THOSE BONE NOVEMBER DAYS
WHEN STILL A WARMTH HELD SWAY
THE CATHODE GLOW, THE FM RAYS
THE STONED, IMMACULATE HAZE
OF THE ANALOG DAYS
THE ANALOG DAYS
THE ANALOG DAYS
THE ANALOG DAYS
Prog, Goth, Rock, something music-y. Definitely dark. Dark is good. If you like dark music with the odd odd time signatures thrown in with the melancholy, this is your place to be.
